By air – The state has five main airports with good connectivity. The Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (IDR), at Indore, is the largest airport in Madhya Pradesh. It is served by direct flights from many Indian cities. All major airlines have regular flights to and from Indore Airport Raja Bhoj International Airport (BHO) in Bhopal, Dumna Airport (JLR) in Jabalpur, Gwalior Airport (GWL), and Khajuraho Airport (HJR) also have scheduled flights to major cities in India.
By rail – Most of the major trains including Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Garib Rath expresses pass through MP due to its central location. Jabalpur is headquarters for the West Central Railway Zone. The Central Railway and the Western Railway zones also cover parts of the state. A very good rail network is available in Madhya Pradesh.
By road, Roadways offers the best connectivity in the state. The state has 20 national highways including NH-7, NH-12A, NH-25, NH-26, NH-27, NH-69, NH-3, NH-92, and NH-12. Both interstate and intrastate bus services cover the length and breadth of Madhya Pradesh. The major interstate bus terminals are Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. The nearby state of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh has state transports bus services.
Moving around: The bus is the cheapest mode of transport. We recommend hiring a car with a driver as the best way to see the countryside. BY TAXI: There are taxi cars, with or without air conditioning, and a large number of auto-rickshaws on the roads in big cities. You can choose to rent a vehicle for the entire duration of your tour.
Permits-
All the national parks require entry permits to enter park & safari activities.
Health Precautions-
When traveling to National Parks, Keep the necessary medicines handy. Carry Insect bite ointments. Drink only bottled water, you may have stomach problems. During winters it may be chilly at night. Carry warm clothes.
